Your thoughts.....
“Kurt Putnam has a well-earned reputation for working with players who attend his camps to master both fundamental technical skills and a tactical approach to the game. I am particularly impressed with the level of specific instruction and feedback Kurt personally provides each player. His love of the game is obvious in his dedication to helping young players reach their potential. My son has grown tremendously under his coaching and has won back to back state cups under Kurt’s instruction and guidance ”
"We have sent all of our five boys to the Cardinal Soccer Summer Camps over the last few years. In addition to the excellent soccer work outs and training, the boys and girls get a chance to just enjoy playing the game of soccer, through Kurt and Stuart's belief in developing skills and knowledge through small-sided games and tournaments, and then at the end of the day, with a full-field game. The joy of being in the moment and playing the sport is often overlooked at other camps, but the Cardinal Soccer Camp Coaches try to make sure the players enjoy the whole experience from problem-solving and socializing to developing their techniques and understanding of the game".
“A youth coach should focus on player’s technique; his or her job is to teach the kids all of the games basic and fundamental skills. My boys (13,17) have participated in Cardinal Soccer programs over the last 5 years, and have greatly improved their skill level. Their summer camps, residential camp, high school prep programs and winter training, Kurt and his coaching staff have showed them how to become better all around players both on and off the field. His unique coaching style is not only challenging, but has proved to be very effective. His coaching methods challenge all players, no matter the skill level. I think my boys enjoy Kurt so much, because they feel he is a great coach, they have fun, and improve their game tremendously. “

Kurt and Stuart are both former English collegiate players, who combine a passion
for soccer with a deep desire to improve the skills of players at all levels. As
deeply involved coaches in the Greenwich community (Kurt is a varsity soccer coach
and Stuart a JV soccer coach at Greenwich High School), they motivate players through
both experienced and effective individual and group instruction. Both coaches provide
a unique blend of guidance from the sidelines as they do on the field, in order to
ensure each player is able to reach his or her potential. Training sessions are always
well planned with specific objectives that focus on individual skills as well as
teamwork. Kurt and Stuart consistently create a fun filled environment in which soccer
players improve their skills while also gaining a better understanding and love of
the game. As a former player of three decades and father to a former Greenwich High
School soccer captain, I can say without reservation, these are two of the best coaches
I have known. They don't hide behind their program as you see them on the field leading
by example.
